Use the Crop tool to remove, or trim, unwanted portions of a photo.

To find the tool:

  1. Click the Photos button on the Navigation panel.

  2. Click the Rotate & Crop icon located below the buttons.

  3. Click the Crop tool on the Toolbar.

To crop the photo:

  1. Click the Crop tool on the Toolbar. The photo in the Work area is enclosed within a dashed perimeter called a bounding box. Small blue balls, or handles, are displayed at strategic locations along the perimeter.

  2. Point at a rotation handle. The pointer is displayed as a cross.

  3. Drag the rotation handles until the bounding box encloses the portion of the photo you wish to keep. In all likelihood, you will have to drag a number of handles to configure the bounding box the way you want it.

Note: When the pointer is displayed as a "hand", you can move the entire bounding box without changing its dimensions.

  4. When you are satisfied with the area enclosed within the bounding box, click the Crop button. The unwanted portions of the photo are removed. A bounding box encloses the remaining portion allowing you to continue the operation if you wish.

Note: You can back up the operation step by step using the Undo tool on the Command bar.

  5. When you are finished cropping the photo, click any other tool to terminate the operation.
